Practical lawyers who solve it, not circle it.

Three tiers of thinking.

Good legal work is quiet. It anticipates the dispute that never happens and the clause no one has to argue about. Three areas, one straight answer in each.

How we work

Solved once, built to hold.

Good legal work is anticipatory. We read the deal, not just the document — the dispute that never happens, the structure that still makes sense in ten years. Plain English first, paperwork second, and a straight answer whenever you ask for one.

1 Understand the deal, not just the paperwork
2 Plain-English advice, a straight answer
3 Documents drafted to hold up
4 The long view — succession and protection
From the field
"You're going to know what we think. We won't hide behind elegant legal jargon — you'll get transparency, and we'll call things as we see them."
— Katherine Mexted · Director, Convex Legal
Common questions

Good to know.

How much will it cost?
We quote transparently up front, based on the work involved — so there are no surprises at settlement or when the invoice lands.
When should I get a lawyer involved?
Earlier than you’d think — ideally before you sign. We can review an agreement and its conditions while you can still change them; once it’s unconditional, your options narrow.
What areas do you cover?
We act for people and businesses across the Wellington region, with offices in Wellington and Porirua — and plenty of matters handled online.
Do you work with my accountant?
Happily. A lot of property and business work is better when the legal and accounting advice is joined up — which is why Convex Legal and Convex Accounting sit side by side, under one roof.
How do I get started?
Get in touch and tell us a little about what you need. We come back within one working day — usually sooner.
